The Copper Scroll
By Joel C. Rosenberg

Well, I continue to stand by my last posting on the Israeli/Lebanon conflict. Although there are rumors of a UN resolution there will be no peace. Sure, they may pass something that causes Israel to withdrawl and Hezbollah to stop firing rockets, but this will continue to flare up. Of course, that is assuming that an actual resolution can be passed. That still has yet to happen.

I am currently reading the book The Copper Scroll. It is a fantastic read. Although it is fiction, the root of the book is based on Biblical prophecy. Joel Rosenberg does an excellent job of keeping his readers attention. In fact, Joel even has a website where he blogs about a lot of the stuff going on in the mideast: www.joelrosenberg.com.

I continue to support Israel and their war against the terrorist regime of Hezbollah. I would also support a pre-emptive strike on Iran or just the assasination of their Jew hating leader. Saying in public that a country should be "wiped off the map" is, in my opinion, a declaration of war. My question is when will the US do something about Iran? Or are we already doing something? The nuke clock on Iran is winding down with very little time left.

The situation in the Middle East demands my attention (to much I am afraid). Night after night I find myself watching the news and reading all the articles I can find on the internet. As usual, the public opinion (among other nations mostly) is turning against Israel. Of course this stems from most peoples absolute hatred of the Jewish people, the apple of God's eye. Even though this terrorist organization is firing hundreds of rockets into Israel every day, most of the media attention is focused on Israels killing of Lebonese people. I just want to make several observations:

* Why did the Lebanese people allow Hezbollah into their country? Why is Hezbollah a part of the Lebanese government?

* Where was the UN when Hezbollah was building all these underground tunnels and bunkers for the last 6 years? Did the UN just not see the thousands of rockets in Southern Lebanon now being fired at innocent Israelis?

* Where is the worlds condemnation of Iran and Syria during all this? If they fund Hezbollah then why arent we doing something about it? All I hear is talk, no action.

Those are just a few of the points that the media is not talking about as much as they should be. I am going to step out and predict that this war will soon become regional. I think Iran and Syra will get pulled into the mix of things somehow or another, it might be tomorrow or it might be a couple years. Ultimately Iran and Syria want a confrontation with Israel, they want Israel "wiped off the map". I dont think the US will do a thing about it either. Thats OK though, because Israel can take care of them by themselves, after all, God is with them.

Hello, great time yesterday at the Sahlhoffs party. Over 8 hours of volleyball really wears on a man. Congrats on the championship Side. Today I turned 24, that was fun. Even more fun and exciting is the fact that I am getting married exactly 2 months from today. Praise the Lord I cant wait. Stephanie Jones is a beautiful girl. Love, peace, chicken grease.

Jerusalem Countdown

Well, time for another post. I hope Dusty is jumping for joy because he is the only one who reads this anyway. So, here is what I share with you Dusty, the sole reader of this site.

I have been reading a book about the significance of the Iran conflict with Israel and so on. Well, I came across a paragraph that seemed really interesting to me on a subject which I hadnt really thought about much before.

Im sure you have heard before that the Catholic church believes that Peter is the foundation of the church, based up on Jesus' words in Matt. 16:18. This has always seemed a little strange to me because I have always thought that Jesus was the sole Rock or foundation of the Church. Following is a paragraph from the book Im reading, John Hagee does a good job of explaining Jesus' words from the original language:

"Jesus told Peter: " You are Peter {the Greek word here for Peter is Petros, which means a peice of rock or something as small as a pebble for a boy's slingshot}, and on this rock (petra) I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18).

'The Greek word for rock when Jesus was speaking of Himself is Petra, which means bedrock. Jesus was saying to Peter, 'You are a little pebble in a boy's slingshot, Petros, but Im going to build my church on Myself, because I am the Bedrock, the petra.

The idea that the Roman Catholic pope speaks as a voice of God with infallibility because he, as the pope, is an extension of Saint Peter is a terrible twisting of Scripture. Peter is a pebble; Jesus Christ is the bedrock who said, "Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18)

Just an interesting fact I came across in the book. Of course not all Catholics believe the Pope is a true extension of Peter, but some do and I am referring to those who believe such a thing.

The "tension" continues:

My topic today is Iran and the threat it poses to the US/Israel.

I imagine there are 3 main views around the world concerning the Iran/UN situation.

View one- The leader of Iran,  President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is a religous fanatic who believes that "Israel should be wiped off the map". He also believes that a religious figure (somehow connected to Muslim beliefs) will come in the next 2-3 years and that there will be catastrophic events before his return. Ahmadinejad belives he will have a part in bringing about the catastrophic events.  Since the Pres. of Iran is fueled by his strong religous beliefs, which also includes wiping Israel off the map, he is not a good man to be in charge of a country with nuclear weapons. Therefore, the US and UN should do all they can to stop this man from obtaining nuclear weapons, including military action.

View two- Simply put, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is correct in his thinking. There will be a returning figure, other than Christ, who will bring about destruction to Jews and Christians. Go Mahmoud!!

View three- I dont really care. I dont care about the status of the world, politics, or what else is going on. I just want to be happy.

Do you have either of these three views? Or maybe you have an angle that I did not mention. Do share.
